It all started with a big dream, few poor conditions, but a lot of work and courage. The first edition of Waves of the Orient was held in 2015., as the annual concert of our studio. We wanted to show what is it, to which we dedicate so much time and effort to and raise everything to a higher level. Every year we went a step further with the desire to learn from the best, we continued with the workshops of world famous instructors we love. We found great support from colleagues who share the same emotions towards this dance and who joined us on stage. That is how our project grew and in 2019. we celebrated our fifth year, the golden edition with one of the biggest stars from Ukraine, Diana Gnatchenko. Since last year, we have introduced an international competition of 5 categories. We have achieved a successful cooperation with the Student's City Cultural Center, on whose stage everything has been held for two years and one of the most prestigious hotels Tulip Inn. Our previous instructors were Nadia Stoykova (Bulgaria), Inessa Aruena (Serbia), Julia Farid (Ukraine), Noemi Bartos (Hungary), Kristina Derkach (Ukraine), Dominika Suchecka (Poland), Vladislava Sitnikova (Russia), Diana Gnatchenko (Ukraine). Our goal is to continue to promote dance in the best light and our dance community that does not lag behind the world one and has a lot to offer.
Dear fans of the Waves of Orient Festival, the time has come to share with you all the details of our spectacular eighth edition of the festival! We're listening to your wishes, and we're are here to provide you with top quality knowledge, experience and good fun. Year by year, we are getting better, and we're bringing the world to Belgrade. This year, your favorite stars, new competition categories, and of course, valuable prizes await you. The number of participants is limited, so book your place on time and dance on the Waves of the Orient.
The theme of the workshop includes interesting combinations, practicing technique with rhythms, working on improvisation, and tips and tricks for better and easier music interpretation.
Aruena is known for her fantastic shimmy, and she will share her secrets for a stronger, better shimmy and what truly makes a difference in dance—moving with the shimmy.
Margo is known for her dynamic yet distinctly feminine style that leaves no one indifferent. She will share the secrets of her flawless technique and a beautiful mejance choreography with veil.
For the first time at our festival, we will explore the technique, theory, and choreography of this beautiful style that lights up the stage. Margo is renowned for her breathtaking Iraqi performances.
In this workshop, we will explore strong hip technique, elegant movement, and expressing emotions through dance. We will learn everything needed to perform these kinds of songs through a beautiful choreography.
This folkloric style is loved by everyone, and until now, we haven’t had the opportunity to study it at our festival—because we were waiting for her. She is a true expert in technique and creative choreographies.

*Competition supplemental pay is 35€ per category if you register for one or two workshops, and 15€ per category if you register for more than two workshops. The song limit is 3:30 minutes. The competition itself, without participation in the workshops, is 50 euros.
*The condition for participation in the Closing Show are 4 workshops, a song time limit of 3:30 minutes. The deadline for submitting songs is November 15th. Announcement pictures must be submitted in large format. The number of participants is limited, so hurry up with your application! Welcome!
*The deadline for payment of the first part of the workshops, confirming your place in the workshops, participation in the Closing show and competition is October 20!
